Renovation & Expansion

aerial photo of pine tree elementary

Opened in 1990, Pine Tree became Avon's third elementary school after Upper and Lower Elementary Schools, which later became White Oak and Maple.

Our community has grown and educational needs have changed in the 32 years since students began walking the halls at Pine Tree.  The time has come to renovate the school's aging finishes, systems, and furnishings. Not only that, Pine Tree's footprint must be expanded to better accommodate growing student enrollment.

We are preparing to embark upon an exciting project that will allow us to:

  • Add classroom spaces to support an extra section of students at each grade level. (Two separate additions will occur on the southeast and northwest corners of the school.)
  • Expand the cafeteria into the space that is currently the Music room.
  • Relocate and improve the Music room.
  • Update paint, trim, lighting, and flooring to improve the environment in classrooms and common areas.
  • Replace aging furniture.
  • Address aging systems.
  • Expand the bus parking lot on the west side of the school to allow for improved traffic flow and increased capacity.

We're excited to update Pine Tree Elementary — an endeavor that will be completed with no increase to taxpayers or referendum funds — and to prepare this decades-old school for additional decades of service to Avon students.
