Children entering grades 1-6 can get a summer experience that builds confidence and imagination through STEM learning at Camp Invention. Camp happens at Cedar from June 9-13.

This summer camp, which is scheduled for June 9-13, is an excellent opportunity for students entering grades 1-8 to learn the fundamentals of musical theatre and experience all aspects of practicing, producing, and performing.

On September 12, 850 juniors descended upon the Town of Avon today for the 10th-annual AHS celebration of community involvement: Junior Day of Caring.

The NOVA Run Club Fall Season is for any ACSC students in grades 1 through 6 to promote the sport of distance running in our community. The session runs from September 5 through October 10.

Pine Tree and River Birch Elementary Schools united this week for a unique event. They hosted a combined Unified Track Meet for students with special needs and their buddies. Students competed together in a host of events.

2023-24 School Year Highlights

A lot can happen over the course of a school year, especially in a school corporation like Avon Schools. We have compiled a list of some of the academic, artistic, athletic, and teacher/leader highlights that have happened since last July, and you can access them all on our website.

Avon Schools district leaders, family, and friends gathered on May 13 to celebrate 24 employees who are retiring this year. In total, these individuals dedicated 552 years of service to Avon.

Any Pine Tree Elementary students who happened to be absent today missed their Principal and Assistant Principal kissing pigs! But that's the point. Not many of them were absent. The pig kissing was a reward for meeting their attendance goal.

Students and staff at Pine Tree Elementary got to enjoy an early taste of May in Indy on a chilly March day when Pine Tree parent and INDYCAR Series racing team member David Karcanes and 500 Festival Princess Luci Woodrum stopped by to visit.

A group of a dozen young men from Avon High School gathered early Thursday morning with Principal Matt Shockley, district administrators, civic leaders, business owners, religious leaders, and hundreds of good neighbors from across the county to participate in Men IN Action READ.

Avon’s kindergarten through sixth grade students have spoken. In August 2025, when AIS East and West open their doors as elementary schools, students will walk into Evergreen Elementary and Willow Elementary.

Parent-Teacher Conferences a Success

Last spring, district leaders amended the 2023-24 school year calendar to include dedicated space and time for conferences to occur on two afternoons in September. We surveyed parents and educators about the experience and here is what they said.
