Apply to be an Oriole Advocate
Stand up, speak out for Avon Schools by becoming an Oriole Advocate.
Oriole Advocates is an organization that promotes student achievement and community engagement by lending a voice to the students, teachers, and staff of the Avon Community School Corporation. They work together to engage the Avon-Washington Township community and local and state-level leaders to help Avon Schools remain one of the premier school corporations in Indiana and to be appreciated as a key asset to the citizens of the state.
Would you like to learn about school finance, legislation, curriculum, and safety in Avon Schools? The Oriole Advocates are launching this fall with an exclusive cohort of curious and motivated individuals. Apply or nominate someone you know to become an Oriole Advocate. Applicants will be notified by September 5.
2024-25 meeting dates are:
- September 17,
- October 29,
- November 14,
- January 9,
- February 18,
- March 6, and
- April 8.
If you become an Oriole Advocate, you'll:
- join an exclusive group of parents and community members in the Oriole Advocates class of 2025,
- learn about topics that are vital for the success of Avon students and our schools, and
- be a lifetime member of this active network once you've completed your class.
Participants will attend five or six sessions during the school year designed to connect you with fellow Advocates, equip you to actively support Avon students and staff, and inform you about topics ranging from curriculum to school finance, mental health supports, to operations, and more.
