Pine Tree Elementary, National Distinguished School
Pine Tree Elementary has earned recognition as a National Title I Distinguished School on the basis of outstanding student academic achievement. Pine Tree has succeeded in closing the achievement gap between student groups for two or more consecutive years.
Pine Tree is one of two Indiana schools chosen for this honor.
The following video will be featured at the National ESEA Convention. It features Karie Mize and Karmesha Molton and highlights the hard work and collaboration that brought about this honor. Join us in celebrating all who were involved in this awesome accomplishment!
"Pine Tree Elementary School is one of up to 100 schools throughout the country that is being nationally recognized for exceptional student achievement in 2021," said Indiana Secretary of Education Dr. Katie Jenner. She continued, by sharing that the purpose of this program is "to highlight selected schools that have successfully used their ESEA federal funds to improve the education for all students—including economically disadvantaged students."
We are extremely proud of former Principal and current White Oak Early Learning Center Principal Karie Mize, Principal Jarrod Gatlin, students, educators, and staff for this incredible achievement.
