Pine Tree & River Birch Host Unified Champions Event

Pine Tree and River Birch Elementary Schools united this week for a unique event. They hosted a combined Unified Track Meet for students with disabilities and their buddies.

Students competed together in a host of events including the standing long jump, running, relays, softball throw, and more.

Not deterred by the rainy weather, the principals and educators moved the event into the warm, dry environment of the River Birch gym. A few dozen parents and caregivers showed up to cheer and applaud the young student athletes who gave it their all. 

Each student gave it their best effort and all of them left the event feeling like the champions they are.
